Your favourite workshops are back! Details below on our Drag Queen Makeup, Drag King Makeup, and Queer Street Arts tutorials!

DRAG QUEEN MAKEUP WORKSHOP

Join local Drag artist GoGo Fetch as we  explore the fundamentals of Drag Queen makeup in this 2 hour interactive class. Going through the art of applying makeup to help bring out that inner diva. In the two hours we cover the basics of drag makeup, focusing on these five elements.

How to Block your Brows 
Contouring and Highlighting
Creating a Drag Eye
Applying Eyelashes 
Overdrawing Lips   

This class is BYOM (Bring Your Own Makeup)

We will supply you with a list of products in advance of the class and they can be purchased at Theatre Garage. If you already have similar products you are welcome to bring them as well.

DRAG KING MAKEUP WORKSHOP

Over this 1.5 hour course you’ll learn the basics drag king makeup,  from the iconic king, Orpheus! (As seen on multiple events around Edmonton) He gives overviews of specialized products, in depth tutorials, and shares all the tricks of the trade to help demystify the artform. After taking the course you’ll feel equipped and empowered to start making creative looks of your own!

Orpheus will show all the products you need to paint a drag face and explain how to best apply them. They will discuss the principles behind contouring for a male illusion and they will share a guide they made of masculine contouring patterns, and explain how different shapes convey different things about your drag persona. Participants will follow a step by step how you paint a natural looking male illusion.​

This class is BYOM (Bring your own make-up).  We will supply you with a list of products in advance of the class and they can be purchased at Theatre Garage. If you already have similar supplies you are welcome to bring them as well.

QUEER STREET ARTS WORKSHOP

Queer Street Art movement class will be a movement and educational session focusing on the styles of Drag, Ballroom, and Gogo. In the session we will be discussing these queer street arts as a way queer people have thrived, survived and shined!

Want to save a life? With Naloxone access and training you can. 

Naloxone is a life-saving drug that temporarily blocks and reverses the effects of an opiate overdose. Over 1755 Albertans died last year from unintentional drug poisonings, about 5 people every single day in Alberta! As part of Pride Reunited, Fruit Loop is coordinating free Naloxone training for the 2SLQBTQ+ community services providers and venues which host 2SLGBTQ+ related events. The training will be offered by Streetworks and hosted by the Grindstone Theatre, at their Studio location at 9562 82 Avenue NW (under the Mill Creek Cafe).

Fruit Loop is excited to bring you not one, but TWO incredible weekends of Pride programming. June 3 -5 and June 11. Proceeds from both weekends will support our community partner, the Edmonton Centre for Newcomers’ Rainbow Refuge program

From June 3 - 5 we will be partnering with the Grindstone Theatre for a FREE and FAMILY-FRIENDLY street fair of epic proportions. Pride activities will be returning to Old Strathcona in the garage district as we host a series of outdoor live performances, drag shows, dancers, photo booths, community booths, workshops, food trucks, beer gardens and late night dance parties to celebrate Pride here in Edmonton. 

With main stage takeovers by Indigi Hauz of Beaver Hills, Party Queens, and your Fruit Loop favourites, live music by Matthew and the Keys, Emmet Michael, and Homofonik.

Free educational/experiential workshops will be offered Sunday including house dance, heels dance, burlesque, and voguing! Register here for these sessions.

On Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24 at 8:00 PM, join the party as we make Jasper your stage in a TWO-PART film production featuring performances by an all-star cast at epic and scenic locations across beautiful Jasper National Park! Not to be missed!

This release is in TWO parts - there was so much talent, we had to split the love across two iconic films that will showcase all the Jasper Pride goodness you know and love.

As part of the annual Pride season, Fruit Loop has traditionally hosted an in-person celebration featuring a dynamic group of performers, outstanding community partners and an amazing audience. This year as we adapt to a new landscape, we’ve had to find new ways to celebrate and highlight our diverse and resilient LGBTQ2S+ community.

Join us on Saturday June 13 from 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm as we live stream an incredible cast of performers direct from The Starlite Room in downtown Edmonton! Sponsored by our friends at TD Bank, and in support of our community partners E2S - Edmonton 2 Spirit Society  and Black Arts Matter.

Featuring performances by Cedar Wildcat, Duke Carson, Artasia, Bea Lissima, Hakka Mei, Dominique Kinisky and more!

Spring is in the air . . . can you feel it? Fruit Loop is back Saturday, March 21 at the newly renovated Station on Jasper with community partners EMHC (Edmonton Men’s Health Collective) and Healing Her Homefire.

DJ Thomas Culture and Teacup DJ will be in the house getting our dance grooves on!

Our hostess Fitzy returns with a cast of drag superstars and burlesque performers including: IMANI, Eden Out, Delta Daggers, Margaret Snatcher and Daisy May Swallow!! Also in the house… the illustrious ONYX returns!!

DANCE OFF at midnight for awesome prizes.
